Unfortunately these are one of the most hated invertebrates on the planet... Ticks are parasitic arachnids which feed on the blood of a host animal, so not very popular with nature-loving humans or pets! But it is incredible that fossils of ticks have been found from around 100 million years ago- from the Cretaceous period with some dinosaurs.

This sculpture was created with education in mind, as dog ticks are quite common and can carry diseases for pets and people, or this sculpture can be a gift for someone who just appreciates ticks or parasitic invertebrates!

Please remember to keep this piece away from sunlight, damp environments, and note it is not suitable for children or pets.
