Frequently Asked Questions:
What are invertebrates?
'Invertebrates' are a group of animals which do NOT have a backbone/spine. This can include insects, arachnids, molluscs, myriapods, crustaceans, and other arthropods. This group does not include mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, and amphibians, which are instead grouped as 'Vertebrates' as they do have a backbone/spine.
Do you take commissions?
Yes, a lot of my artwork is commission, please get in touch or email motleyexotics@gmail.com. You can also browse my portfolio for examples of my work if you would like a similar sculpture made. Click HERE to view my portfolio.
What are the waiting times for commission work?
At current, from payment to dispatch, my average commissions take two weeks to one month. For larger or more complex sculptures these timings may vary. Please get in touch if you would like to know the timings for a specific species to be created.
Do you take non-invertebrate commissions?
I do occasionally take on non-invertebrate commissions, so please do get in touch or email motleyexotics@gmail.com. If you would like to browse my previous vertebrate artwork, there is a tab specifically for those in my portfolio. Or click HERE to view.
Can you do fictional animals, or other sculptures?
I have created a few creatures which cannot be found in nature, so although these are not my usual art, I can create from pictures, so please message with your inquiry, or email motleyexotics@gmail.com
Will you recreate my pet?
A large volume of invertebrate sculptures I have made have been peoples pets, usually made from photos sent across to me via email. If you would like a pet-portrait, please send photos which show different angles of your pet to my email motleyexotics@gmail.com
What are the dimensions of your sculptures?
Most of my sculptures are larger-than-life of the animal they portray. The sizes for each one available to purchase should be listed in the description on each listing.
If you would like more information on the dimensions of a piece in my portfolio, please email me.
